Mobile Banking

While fintechs were reinventing banking, ABN AMRO's mobile teams were stuck in feature mode. No shared vision, nine agile teams pulling in different directions. In five days, we changed that.

2018

ABN AMRO's mobile banking app hadn't kept pace with the market. Individual teams shipped features; nobody was asking what mobile banking should actually become.

Inspired by Cognizant's The Future of Money, we ran a five-day pressure cooker to prototype a concept around "fast & slow money", blending everyday transactions with long-term financial insight. The prototype was direct and visual enough to pitch without a lengthy deck. We took it straight to the CEO via WhatsApp.

Role: UX Design / Methods: Peer design, pressure cooker sprint, concept prototyping

The green light unlocked something bigger than the prototype itself: all nine agile teams aligned under a shared vision and started designing toward a coherent future together.

ABN Amro

ABN AMRO's mobile teams were moving fast but in different directions. Via IceMobile I helped set a shared course: first with a five-day sprint that gave nine agile teams a common vision for mobile banking, then with a design system that gave them something consistent to build on.
